"Since they will not apologize, I will do it for them. We are sorry America, the country which has given us so much, that we acted like spoiled brats on the world stage. We are sorry our behavior allowed us to lose favor with many of you. You deserve better America - much better. And we let you down."

Yesterday, before the game, a friend IM'd me and said he would be cheering for the Netherlands. Against his own country. He is a huge patriot, and cheering against America runs counter to his beliefs. As it does mine. As it does most patriots I know. I replied back that I was with him. Regardless of how a few of these gals feel about our President, our flag, or our country, their behavior on the world stage has been childish, churlish, and unforgivable.
Oh, come on Bird! Confess! You just don't like woman's sports! Wrongo. I love watching woman's Olympic action, both in the summer and winter games. However, that enthusiasm would go out the window for either men's or women's sports if the team acted like spoiled brats, such as this woman's soccer team exhibited.
These gals were also poor winners. One thing many learn early in sports, is how not to be poor loser. The quality athletes, were also taught how not to be a poor winner. Rubbing it in, making fun of the country you just beat, running up the score over a vastly inferior opponent - all combine to give credence and credibility to the "Ugly American" myth.
In the over two hundred times I have been to Washington, DC, I have never toured the White House. I was usually neck deep in negotiations, working on a new business deal, or on Navy business. I would have loved to have a tour. However, to be invited to the White House by the President, would be an honor above most others. The fact these prima donnas would snub the President's invite, makes me hope he does not offer them one. They don't deserve one. In fact, all they really deserve, is our condemnation for how they sullied and besmirched this great country.
Well, enough about them. They will soon fade to black in many of our memories. The big spotlight this week will be on ICE. The acting ICE Commissioner was on the news this weekend. He said we have about 1,000,000 people who have gone through the court system for asylum, failed, and were ordered to leave. Did they leave? Nope. They disappeared "into the wind". Those are the people that will be picked up in the "raids" by ICE. Of course, Meagan "Stub My Toe" and her merry crusaders, will blame Trump for this. Of course.
Since they will not apologize, I will do it for them. We are sorry America, the country which has given us so much, that we acted like spoiled brats on the world stage. We are sorry our behavior allowed us to lose favor with many of you. You deserve better America - much better. And we let you down.
