Why Rush Was Wrong

The transformation is nearly complete.

Much quicker than I thought would be the case, at that.

During his February 10, 2014 broadcast, Rush Limbaugh opined that the latest spin of the Obama administration–that working less hours, or even not at all, was actually a desirable thing that would allow ‘extra time to pursue your dreams,’– was in actuality an attempt to save Obamacare.

This is one of the very few times when Rush is wrong–or at the very least hadn’t nailed the real issue.

You see, Obamacare is doing EXACTLY what it was designed to do; in fact, it is most certainly far exceeding Obama’s or anyone else’s expectations.

When in 2008 then-candidate Barack Hussein Obama crowed, “We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America,”  it wasn’t merely boilerplate, feel-good, red-meat rhetoric meant for the exclusive consumption of his adoring minions.

He really meant it.

More than anything Obama has said before, and more than anything Obama had said since, this was the one driving purpose; the one task he meant to accomplish.

And accomplish it, he did.

As Liimbaugh is wont to say, words mean things.

Obama’s 2008 promise, his statement of purpose, is worth repeating. This time, though, really think it through as you read it:,

“We are five days away from *FUNDAMENTALLY TRANSFORMING* the United States of America,”

Those words will go down in history as being every bit as momentous and consequential in dismantling the United States as the phrase, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall”  was in dismantling the Soviet Union.

As Ronald Reagan introduced the “Strategic Defense Initiative” as a weapon that would ultimately bring down the Soviet Union by making them spend themselves into oblivion, Barack Obama introduced Obamacare, with the same effect.

In effect, Obama has been the Anti-Reagan.

There were promises, of course, that Obama had no intention of keeping. Most famously, “If you like your coverage, you can keep it. Period.” comes to mind; or “If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.” Other flippant, empty promises were thrown to adoring throngs and skeptics alike, including “…under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortion.” and “I will not sign a plan that adds a single dime to the deficit.” (To be fair, Obama has kept this latter promise. He has not added one single dime to the deficit; in reality, he has added 666 BILLION dimes).

But that one promise he made–that one ‘pivotal’ purpose he and others had been grooming himself his entire lifetime to realize, to FUNDAMENTALLY transform America–he intended to keep.

And kept it he has.

Since 2009, with the help of Obamacare, Barack Obama and his Democrat allies effectively halted the recovery of the recession of 2007-2010 in its tracks.. As was necessary to survive in an Obamacare era, many companies in their planning were forced to keep their payroll at under 50 employees, and/or cut employee hours to 30 or less. Many companies were forced to drop their current coverage for their employees, and for their spouses, even part-time employees, Contrary to Obama’s grand oft-made promise, people began to find that they indeed couldn’t keep the coverage they liked (or the doctor they liked) since their current insurance plan didn’t have pregnancy coverage for men, or prostate coverage for women.

Outside of the deleterious consequences evidenced in the health care sector, the very number of jobs available to be had decreased significantly under Obama’s watch, and those that were created were part-time and/or low-skilled positions. Under Obama and his signature program, the labor participation rate, that is, the percentage of American citizens either working or looking for jobs, is the lowest it has been since 1978. To compare to actual results with the outwardly-stated purpose of Obamacare- to insure the masses, is to acknowledge abject failure.  Those who have lost coverage as a result of Obamacare continue tooutpace sign-ups by a wide margin.

What you need to understand, however, is that these events/circumstances are not due to unfortunate and unplanned consequences of an otherwise well-intentioned but ill-thought out policy.

These consequences have been by design.

These consequences are the natural progression, the carefully laid plan to bring traditional America to its knees, to its ruination, so as to bring to fruition Obama’s vision of a FUNDAMENTALLY transformed America–from that of a thriving capitalist-based system based on the principles of economic and personal liberty, to an unattainable, doomed-to-failure egalitarian society, in which “to each according to his needs, from each, according to his means” rules the day.

So understand when Jay Carney, Nancy Pelosi, Keith Ellison and the rest of the usual suspects gleefully bleat about how being under-employed or unemployed is actually a blessing, know that they mean it from the heart.  Unlike Rush said, they’re not merely trying to protect and preserve Obamacare.  Rather, they are happily celebrating the birth of the “new normal” in America.

Complete dependency and thus control by the state is the end game of communism.

Obamacare is making it happen.

And the Democratic Party is poised to declare checkmate.
