Why Is Racism More Offensive Than Force?

On today’s Fightin Words podcast: Lee Daniels, director of Oprah Winfrey’s latest vehicle ‘The Butler,’ told Piers Morgan he thinks America has become more racist since Barack Obama was elected president. Meanwhile, three black teens confessed to shooting an Australian baseball player to death while he was visiting his American girlfriend, because they were “bored.” Why should we be more offended and concerned by the prospect of racism than the reality of brutal force?
