The Big Debate Is Tonight! Don't Miss it.
Minnesota GOP Leadership Candidates to Debate in Plymouth May 28
Senate District 45 Republicans is hosting a first-ever moderated debate with leadership candidates for Republican Party State Chair and Deputy Chair Thursday, May 28 at Robbinsdale Armstrong High School in Plymouth. All Minnesota GOP senate and congressional district members are invited to submit questions, and the public is invited to attend.
Candidates attending include State Party Chair candidates Tony Sutton, Carrie Ruud and Dave Thompson. State Deputy Chair candidates Dorothy Fleming (incumbent), Michael Brodkorb, and Robert Swinehart will also attend. Moderating the event are Ed Morrissey of AM1280’s Northern Alliance Radio Network and Annette Meeks, founder of Freedom Foundation of Minnesota.
In the days leading up to the event, Minnesota Congressional Districts and the GOP House and Senate gathered questions from its members.
“It’s a first time event and will provide attendees an in-depth look at how candidates would steer the State Republican party in these challenging times,” said SD45 Chair Candace Oathout. “At the State Convention in off-election years, we elect new leaders. And at that event there are campaign speeches given by the candidates. Our debate offers a forum for candidate rebuttal and questions for the candidates by the grassroots of the party.”
A mixer begins at 6:30pm and the debate at 7:00 pm. Admission is $5 at the door (light refreshments and hors d'oeuvres provided). Robbinsdale Armstrong High School is located at 10635 36th Avenue N. in Plymouth. > Map
