Conservatives have stared down the Bolsheviks, the Sandinistas, the ChiComms … even Nancy Pelosi. But now we may have met our match. According to gossip blog TMZ, Barry Manilow is on the warpath and taking no prisoners. The Web site reports: TMZ has learned that legendary singer Barry Manilow has pulled out of his scheduled appearance on “The View” tomorrow -- because he strongly disagrees with host Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s conservative view! “I strongly disagree with her views,” said the man who wrote the songs that made the young girls cry [and most guys tolerated because it usually meant they were going to get some]. “I think she’s dangerous and offensive. I will not be on the same stage as her.” According to TMZ, Manilow is on tour, promoting his latest album, “Greatest Songs of the Seventies.” Hmmm…I think we know someone who can fill in for him. |
