Not Pedophiles, “Minor-Attracted Persons”
They no longer want to be known as “pedophiles.” No, it appears that adults who willingly prey on children would now prefer to be called “minor-attracted persons.”
Less stigma, you know.
About 50 sympathizers of these “minor-attracted persons” gathered together at a recent conference in Baltimore hosted by the pedophile group B4U-ACT, including pedophiles, mental health professionals, gay activists, and even a “sexologist” from John Hopkins University– a man by the name of Dr. Fred Berlin who delivered the keynote address to the group.
It turned out to be a real Kumbaya event. Kleenex and all.
You see, as Dr. Berlin noted in his speech, this group believes that pedophiles are simply people who need to be loved. Berlin supports the group B4U-ACT for trying to destigmatize this group of human beings who “should not be held responsible for their attractions.” He went on to tell the group that “the majority of pedophiles are gentle and rational”, that “pedophiles “have feelings of love and romance for children” in the same way adults love one another,” and that the sexual issues of these individuals are not “black and white”, but contain shades of “gray.”
In other words…..c’mon folks, lighten up. Chill. As Berlin says, “In Western culture, sex is taken so seriously”. We all need to just take a deep breath and relax– this pedophilia thing is so, like, overblown. Children are sexual beings and should have the right to express themselves sexually, just like adults. Or with adults.
Or whatever.
So what are the goals of the group B4U-ACT ? Well, they are attempting to declassify pedophilia as a mental disorder by the American Psychiatric Association’s (APA) Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) which would, in turn, keep pedophiles from being incarcerated. It should be viewed much the same way that homosexuality is viewed….as just another form of “normal.”
We don’t lockup homosexuals for having sex; why would we lock up pedophiles? These supporters believe that it’s not the pedophiles who have a problem, the problem is a close-minded society that refuses to put understanding in place of judging.
In the past, Dr. Berlin has not been shy about his opposition to sex offender notification laws– which warn parents when a sex-offender moves in next door-- despite the fact that sex offenders have been known to kidnap, rape, and murder neighborhood children and are usually the first ones investigated by police when a child is missing.
Huh.
You see, folks at this conference feel that society needs to get out of a person’s bedroom. What’s important is the “liberty” of individuals to do what they’d like--including having sex with children– without government constraints.
Funny how the word “liberty” suddenly comes into play whenever it fits the needs of a liberal.
These libs are the same individuals who want to “protect” children from bullying, “protect” children from second-hand smoke, “protect” children by fining parents if their child’s car seat has not been installed properly, and “protect” children by taking away slides and swings from parks.
Yet, protecting children from child molesters is “too much government intervention”?
Really?
Another well-received speaker at the convention was a gay activist named Jacob Breslow, a man who went even further in his adulation for those who are “minor-attracted.” As reported by WND:
Self-descried “gay activist” and speaker Jacob Breslow said that children can properly be “the object of our attraction.” He further objectified children, suggesting that pedophiles needn’t gain consent from a child to have sex with “it” any more than we need consent from a shoe to wear it. He then used graphic, slang language to favorably describe the act of climaxing (ejaculating) “on or with” a child. No one in attendance objected to this explicit depiction of child sexual assault. There was even laughter.
So how does B4U-ACT propose to accomplish their goal of decriminalizing pedophilia? The same way they made homosexuality acceptable to society…through political activism. They are going to try to sell the American public on the fact that there are no long-term ramifications from children having consensual sex with adults, and that pedophiles’ attraction to minors is inborn. Watch the studies which appear from major universities which confirm these “results”. Watch for TV shows and movies to begin to show pedophiles in a different light. Watch the media begin to tell heartfelt stories about men who “simply can’t help the way they feel.”
Are we waking up yet?
Our children are not guinea pigs. They are not sexual objects. They are innocent human beings who need to be protected and nurtured and given a foundation upon which they can build a functional life.
We are their parents. We are the protectors, the nurturers, the people who children rely on to give them that solid foundation.
Our kids didn’t ask to be born.
We owe them them a proper childhood.
We owe them.
